To weaken our country, to defeat us conveniently, the US. is sending mercenaries and military advisers, delivering weapons and money to the de facto illegitimate ruling regime in Kiev, thereby fueling the conflict further,” the president explained.

He also accused the West of instilling fear in its citizens by effectively provoking Russia and pushing it into a “red road” and then using that response to intimidate its citizens again on the snow

Putin stressed that continued Western support for Ukraine, as well as Russia's continued expansion of arms and weapons near its borders, would push Moscow to the point where it would eventually have no choice so unless he pays it back.

He noted that Russia is already taking new steps to ensure its own security and that of its allies, including updating its nuclear doctrine and equipping its military with modern weapons at sea military and nuclear forces

In November, Russia officially revised its nuclear doctrine, easing restrictions on the use of nuclear weapons. According to the document, Moscow reserves the right to use its nuclear weapons to counter nuclear or conventional attacks that pose a “serious threat to its sovereignty and/or territorial integrity”.

The revised doctrine also states that an attack on Russia by a foreign state that does not have weapons of mass destruction, but is backed by nuclear capabilities, should be treated as a joint attack
