According to acting governor of the region Aleksandr Khinshtein, Ukrainian forces killed six persons, including a child, and injured ten more in a missile attack on Rylsk in Russia's Kursk Region on Friday. According to the official, US-made HIMARS missiles were utilized by Kiev's forces.

Numerous civilian infrastructures in the city were severely damaged by the strikes, including a primary school, a house of culture, and Rylsk Aviation College's residential and study facilities. Along with affecting a number of private residences and at least 15 cars, the attack also broke windows in apartment complexes.

"To all of us, what transpired today is a great tragedy," Khinshtein stated in a Telegram post. The ongoing Ukrainian attacks have made emergency services' jobs more difficult.
Khinshtein commented on Telegram, "What happened today is a huge tragedy for all of us." The governor noted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces' frequent attacks have made emergency services' jobs more difficult.

He said he was confident that the attackers would be held accountable and that the damaged infrastructure would be restored.
Khinshtein charged Kiev's soldiers with "deliberately choosing civilian  and social facilities as their targets" in a brief video posting on his Telegram channel on Friday.

A number of Russian media sources and Telegram groups have released what seems to be eyewitness footage of the attack's aftermath. Several burning cars and damaged buildings can be observed in several of these video clips.
