Russia's UN representative Criticizes Trump's Ukraine Policy |
Russia's UN representative, Vassily Nebenzia, expressed concerns over the Trump administration's unclear position on the Ukraine crisis. He pointed out a disconnect between Trump's push for swift solutions and Russia's insistence on a comprehensive resolution that safeguards its security concerns. Nebenzia outlined President Putin's demands for peace, which include an immediate ceasefire, the withdrawal of Ukrainian forces from contested regions, and Ukraine adopting a neutral stance. Although discussions with Ukraine are ongoing, Nebenzia doubted their effectiveness, warning that further delays in negotiations could weaken Ukraine's standing. He also referenced Trump's suggestion of a direct meeting with Putin to address the conflict.
